In response to feedback received over the course of 2020, the Society has revised its charter to allow members to join at large, without forming a diocesan chapter. Chapters are not being done away with, and local fellowship at the diocesan level is still highly encouraged. But this change will allow people to join who are unable to form a chapter.
The Society has released a beginner’s guide to the Lectionary. This 1-sheet guide follows up on the introduction to Morning & Evening Prayer released last year. It provides an overview of perhaps the most complicated part of the Daily Office: what to read when. These guides may be distributed freely, with attribution. December 2019 saw the inauguration of the Society of St. Nicholas Ferrar. Chapters in the dioceses of Minnesota and Michigan formed on the Feast Day of St. Nicholas Ferrar. We welcome any inquiries about the society, existing chapters, or those seeking to start one in their own diocese. Please contact us here.
The Minnesota Chapter of the Society of St. Nicholas Ferrar will celebrate its establishment with a Sung Evening Prayer service on Sunday, 1 December, 2019. The service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in St. Paul, MN at 4:00pm. For more information about the service, please email the SSNF office.
